AI Pioneers Call for International Containment Body and Airgapping of Advanced Models
An open letter published Tuesday and signed by about 400 scientists, including AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, calls for the creation of an international body to set containment measures for artificial intelligence models and to maintain a registry of significant AI security incidents, according to Reuters. The letter states that AI systems should first be “airgapped” from the internet until they are proven safe, BNN Bloomberg reported.
