    New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is excited by the concept of taxing the rich in New York to fund his progressive agenda.

    One of the cornerstones of Mamdani’s successful campaign was the promise to increase taxes on the state’s rich to fund social projects that he believes will turn the city into a progressive utopia. Speaking to Kristin Welker on Meet the Press, he explained that the pied-à-terre tax is a revenue stream that has not yet been successful in the state, but he’s hoping that will change under his leadership. Because what will encourage people to invest in New York, quite like a non-primary resident tax?
