Charlie Kirk’s murder is one of the most shocking things to happen in politics since, well, since the attempt to murder President Trump in Butler, PA. People on the right were went from being stunned by what had happened to becoming really angry as some on the left celebrated Kirk’s death. It genuinely seemed to me like things couldn’t get any worse than knowing some small but still sizeable minority of Americans were wishing you were dead and really relishing and cherishing that thought.
