Thousands of refugees and other lawfully present immigrants lost Medicaid on Oct. 1 under President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, a move the White House frames as putting American taxpayers first.
The Hill reported that the coverage losses hit refugees, asylees without green cards, survivors of domestic violence, and victims of sex trafficking who had previously qualified for the taxpayer-funded program.
