The House on Wednesday voted to end the Iran war for the third time since the conflict began in late February. The lower chamber voted 220-204 to end the war, with all Democrats and a handful of Republicans backing the measure, according to the Associated Press.
Earlier in the day, Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., read articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, asserting that he had illegally continued to prosecute the war past the 60-day maximum for a conflict without authorization from Congress.
The Trump administration previously argued that the now-ended ceasefire with Iran had reset the clock. Massie’s motion was tabled and did not move forward.
But the House vote marks yet another rebuke of the Trump administration over the conflict, which has witnessed consideralbe tumult in the energy markets and nearly exhausted U.S. air defense reserves.
