California and 11 other states filed an anti-trust lawsuit July 13 against the Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery merger, asking the court to permanently block the $110 billion deal.

Attorney General Rob Bonta claims the acquisition would extinguish competition, drive up prices, lower content quality, and result in fewer movies and television shows.

The British government hinted it might intervene in the merger, citing concerns over media pluralism in June. Lisa Nandy, the minister responsible for media oversight, notified Parliament on June 30 she is “minded to intervene” in the transaction. We had a problem loading this article.
