A quiet moment on a downtown Seattle street turned into a life-altering nightmare for a 75-year-old woman, after an unprovoked attack left her permanently blinded and stunned a city already grappling with repeat violent crime.
According to the New York Post, Jeanette Marken was standing near the King County Courthouse earlier this month, waiting to cross the street, when a man allegedly approached her from behind and struck her in the head with a wooden board.
