In an epic and exciting monologue that came shortly before she totally and utterly wrecked CNN journalist Kaitlin Collins, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained some of the major wins won by the Trump Administration on the very important domestic front that has been weighing on his popularity, noting both that the fights against illegal immigration and inflation are being won.
As background, President Trump managed to win the November 2024 presidential election against former VP Kamala Harris in large part because of his vows to shut down the illegal immigration problem that had grown so severe under Biden and his pledge to deal with the inflation problem that ravaged the country under Biden.
However, many in MAGA have grown frustrated with what they saw as the administration’s focus on international matters, such as ongoing forever war conflicts in the Middle East, rather than domestic issues, which was starting to show up in worrisome polling for the president. He has, as a result, taken to focusing on domestic issues like the border, stopping narcotic flows, and inflation, which has started to revive his polling.
As part of that refocusing on domestic matters, Karoline Leavitt spoke during the Thursday, December 11 press conference about how the situation is going. Beginning, she commented on the administration’s massive success at the border and with illegal immigration, saying that it has been the “Greatest and fastest national security victory in modern American history, and it’s not even close.”
Continuing, she explained how the ongoing border defense effort is proving more and more successful as illegal aliens are being resolutely turned away and deported, and so aren’t showing up at the border anymore. She said, “The latest preliminary numbers released from the month of November show we have the most secure border in our nation’s history. This is a remarkable achievement. November encounters came in even lower than the previous historic low in October, if you can believe it, there were only 30,367 total encounters nationwide.”
Building on that, the press secretary noted that the success at the border has led to the administration having scored a major win for Americans in not letting any illegal aliens at all into the country, saying, “That’s lower than the previous record set in October. And for the seventh consecutive month, US Border Patrol released zero illegal aliens into the United States. Let me repeat, seven months of zero illegal aliens being released into our country.”
Contrasting that with the utter disaster at the border under Biden, she noted the breathtaking scale of the victory at the border, saying, “This is a historic achievement, and it’s one that every law abiding American citizen should be grateful for. At this point in 10 months under President Trump’s unmatched leadership, we’ve seen less apprehensions overall than we saw in just one month under Joe Biden. Again, let me repeat, in 10 months under President Trump, we’ve seen less apprehensions at the southern border than we saw in one month under the previous president. Again, remarkable results.”
