A Texas Senate seat is up for election this midterm cycle, and a major battle is being waged between the Establishment Republicans, who back John Cornyn, and the MAGA Republicans, who back Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. As perhaps should have been expected, Fox News threw in its lot with the RINO and tried to help him win.
For reference, the election has turned into a debacle, as the running of Wesley Hunt meant that neither Paxton nor Cornyn could reach the above-50% mark necessary to avoid a runoff. So, as a result, the GOP primary race will have to head to a runoff election between Cornyn and Paxton before the general election for the Senate seat.
