The state of Ohio banned biological males from competing in girls’ and women’s sports in 2024. However, states like Texas, which have also adopted similar laws, have been exposed for lying to parents and the public about their compliance with the new rules.
Accuracy in Media (AIM) decided to send undercover journalists to several Ohio school districts to see if school officials are following the law and protecting their female athletes.

AIM’s journalist spoke to Jodi Zunk, the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director of Eastwood Middle School in Pemberville, Ohio. Zunk stated that she was “very left leaning” and that the new laws “ha[ve] been a struggle for [her].” The administrator noted that prior to the passage of these new athletic regulations and laws, transgender students had been free to participate on the team of their choosing.
The journalist indicated that she was inquiring on behalf of her female-passing sister, for whom she had an adoptive birth certificate. Zunk seemed to perk up at this fact and offered, “I wonder if we just don’t even tell anybody?” While she looked further into the situation, she said, “the less people that know, the better.”
In addition to their laws for athletes, Ohio also now requires students to use the correct bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their sex at birth.
Zunk, after indicating that she is an “ally,” assured our journalist that even in the “small conservative” town of Pemberville, with many “Trumpers,” the staff would be “100% on your side.”
This type of arrogance from school officials is not uncommon. Many left-leaning employees in education believe that they know better than a child’s parents, based on their political beliefs. In Ohio alone, schools in Dayton, Springfield, and Norwood have been revealed to be skirting transgender-related laws in favor of leftist ideology, endangering their female students.
