President Donald Trump told oil executives at the White House Friday that Venezuela has already given the United States 30 million barrels of oil, which are expected to be sold by the U.S. at market price.
The gift comes as the president pushes American oil companies to invest billions of dollars to rebuild Venezuela’s energy sector. Trump previously said Venezuela’s interim government will send the U.S. between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil.
Trump told oil executives from companies including ConocoPhillips, Exxon, and Shell that the oil was delivered Thursday.
