In the early morning hours of February 11, 2026, Pitt County deputies responded to a violent home invasion in Greenville’s Cherry Oaks neighborhood, North Carolina, involving burglary, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree forcible sex offense, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
While the male victim was hospitalized, the two suspects, identified as illegal immigrants, were arrested with the assistance of U.S. Marshals and Chapel Hill Police. The two men, 20-year-old homeless Jonathan David Garcia-Lario and 21-year-old Zaid Mayen, are facing four felony charges and are being held without bond.
