Trump warns Iran to ‘make a deal’ as country’s largest bridge tumbles from US strike

President Donald Trump warned Iran Thursday to “make a deal before it’s too late” after a United States airstrike took out the Middle East’s largest bridge. Trump shared a 10-second clip of the ruins of the B1 highway bridge in a post on Truth Social. The bridge was considered an important link between Iran’s capital of Tehran and the western city of Karaj, according to Fox News.
“The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — Much more to follow,” Trump wrote in the post. “It is time for Iran to make a deal before it is too late and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country.”
Iranian state TV warned the Middle Eastern country could retaliate against U.S. allies in the region, and its military has identified multiple bridges in American-allied Middle East nations as potential targets, Fox News reported.
The bridge strike comes after the U.S. and Israel began the weeks-long conflict with Iran in February, which resulted in the death of former Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated against the U.S. and Israel by hitting American bases in the region and the U.S. warned Iran could expand its efforts to impact U.S. facilities in other countries.
