President Donald Trump on Sunday vowed to continue with his strikes on Iran until he had achieved all American military objectives and warned that the U.S. would sustain more casualties throughout the conflict.”Over the past 36 hours, the United States and its partners launched Operation Epic Fury,” he said. “We have hit hundreds of targets in Iran, including revolutionary guard facilities, Iranian air defense systems, just now, it was announced that we knocked out nine ships plus their naval building.”
He further said that the late Ayatollah Ali Khameini was responsible for the deaths of “countless thousands of innocent people.”
“The entire military command is gone as well and many of them want to surrender,” Trump went on. “Combat operations continue at this time in full force and will continue until all of our objectives are achieved.”
He further lamented the American deaths thus far and said more would occur.
“As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation even as we continue the righteous mission for which we gave their lives,” he concluded, “Sadly, there will likely be more.”
