President Donald Trump on Friday announced that he had approved more than $39 million in funding for winter storm relief to help Mississippi contend with the severe weather.”I just spoke to the GREAT Governor of Mississippi, Tate Reeves, and told him I am approving $39.1 Million Dollars for the severe winter storm that they just experienced,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “I love the people of Mississippi, and won big there, three times. We are with you all the way!”
The approval of disaster relief funding follows a severe cold front that swept the United States, resulting in widespread closures, especially in the South, which typically does not invest in plows and other equipment for dealing with heavy snowfall.
