President Donald Trump Wednesday signed an executive order directing the Department of War to prioritize long-term Power Purchase Agreements with coal-fired power plants. Trump signed the executive order at a “Champion of Coal” press conference. The president was joined by coal miners, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
According to the White House, the order will ensure a resilient grid and help make America energy dominant.
