Trump alleged on Sunday that the U.S. secretly sent weapons to protesters in Iran. These weapons were sent through the Kurds earlier this year, the president said in an interview with Fox News.
“We sent guns to the protesters, a lot of them. We went to the Kurds. And I think the Kurds kept them,” Trump said.
Some Kurdish factions denied ever receiving weapons.
