President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order to organize an IndyCar race on the streets of Washington, D.C., to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.The Departments of Transportation and Interior will coordinate with the mayor of D.C. to create a track around the National Mall in order to “showcase the majesty of our great city as drivers navigate a track around our iconic national monuments,” NBC News reported.
The race is part of America 250, Trump’s string of celebrations to mark the anniversary of the U.S.’s independence from Great Britain. He has further planned a UFC fight on the White House lawn.
The executive order marks the latest in unconventional celebrations set for the American milestone.
