President Donald Trump on Friday confirmed that he has a habit of giving members of the administration dress shoes if he sees them wearing old, worn-out footwear.“What I do is, as somebody that for many, many years that has walked around in shoes that were no good and would not be that comfortable — so I have fun with it,” he told Fox News’s Brian Killmeade.
Trump reportedly has developed a penchant for the brand Florsheim and considers sneakers inappropriate for his Cabinet members.
“Sneakers are wonderful, but I don’t want my Cabinet members wearing sneakers,” he added. “So I’ll get them a pair of shoes. It’s a gift from Donald Trump.”
During Trump’s first term, advisor Larry Kudlow was spotted during a meeting wearing L.L. Bean boots with a suit. The image went viral and led to voluminous jokes. It is unknown if Trump ever gave Kudlow a pair of shoes.
