President Donald Trump on Friday vowed that he would not make an agreement with Iran shy of unconditional surrender that permitted him to hand-select the next leader of the country.”There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” he posted on Truth Social. “After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).'”
Trump’s war aims have apparently shifted since the start of the conflict, and he has repeatedly waffled between the prospect of negotiating with the existing regime or overthrowing it entirely.
He previously stated that many of the persons he had considered to replace the Ayatollah were killed in the initial strikes.
