U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Thursday that, starting today, the Trump administration will be pushing to restrict the ability of those who are receiving public assistance to wire money out of the country.
The announcement follows President Trump ordering IRS and Treasury officials to expand their investigations of widespread welfare fraud in Minnesota as well as other states where billions of taxpayer dollars have allegedly been fraudulently obtained by recipients and then sent overseas.
