Like most losing parties, after being beaten solidly in last November’s presidential election, the Democrats undertook a long and painstaking review to assess their failures, with the intention of correcting course before the midterms next fall and the race to replace Donald Trump two years after that. The Democratic National Committee invested millions of dollars and countless man-hours in its effort to learn what is broken in the party and to find ways to fix it before it saps their power even further. This past week, after much soul-searching, DNC Chairman Ken Martin announced that the post-mortem of the Trump-Harris contest is complete, and the reason for the Democrats’ lopsided loss in 2024 is: “None of your damn business!”
