Renouncing U.S. citizenship just became a lot cheaper.The U.S. State Department has cut the fee all the way down to $450 from $2,350.
The final rule reducing the fee was published in the Federal Register on Friday.
The Associated Press reported that the fee reduction was initially planned back in 2023 when former President Biden was in office.
The new fee is the same amount that it was back in 2010.
