United States Southern Command announced Wednesday that it has launched another kinetic strike on an alleged drug trafficking boat in the Eastern Pacific, killing four male “narco-terrorists.” The Trump administration has largely been attacking alleged drug boats from Venezuela in its fight against drug cartels. The U.S. has conducted over two dozen strikes against the boats, which have killed at least 95 alleged “narco-terrorists.”
SOUTHCOM said the operation was ordered by War Secretary Pete Hegseth and that no U.S. military forces were harmed.
“Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization in international waters,” SOUTHCOM posted on X. “Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. A total of four male narco-terrorists were killed.”
The military strike was part of the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to curb illicit drug smuggling operations into the United States.
