‘Respectfully, f*** off’: Newsom press team blasts RCP reporter over dyslexia question

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s, D-Calif., on Tuesday responded harshly to a RealClearPolitics reporter’s inquiry into Newsom’s alleged dyslexia diagnosis.”Hey, Susan — thanks for reaching out. Respectfully, fuck off,” wrote one “Izzy” from the Newsom press team. RCP National Correspondent Susan Crabtree posted the screenshot of the reply to X.
She had previously asked Newsom’s team to provide documentation of a dyslexia diagnosis for Newsom. The governor’s press team had pointed to his dyslexia in recent days after the fallout from an event in which the governor attempted to relate to a predominately black audience by highlighting his low SAT scores and inability to read.
“I’m a 960 SAT guy,” he said. “You’ve never seen me read a speech, because I cannot read a speech.”
Crabtree ultimately brushed off the rude reply, opining that her past reporting on Newsom and his links to the Chinese Communist Party had likely irritated him.
“Perhaps it was our book full of Newsom’s prevarications and ties to China and the CCP that really got under his skin,” she said.
