In a boon for the GOP, on January 26, 2026, Iowa State Rep. Jennifer Konfrst (D), representing District 32, announced she is suspending her campaign for the U.S. House in Iowa’s competitive 3rd Congressional District.
Konfrst endorsed State Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott (D-District 14) as the Democratic candidate to challenge incumbent Republican Rep. Zach Nunn in the general election. While this district has featured close races, many see this move as benefiting the Republican candidate.
