Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) detonated a political grenade on Capitol Hill Monday with a post on X declaring that “Muslims don’t belong in American society.” The statement drew immediate fire from Democrats and at least one Republican colleague, turning an already tense congressional atmosphere into something closer to a brawl.
Ogles’ post landed just weeks after Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) caught heat for his own incendiary remarks on the same platform. According to Axios, Fine had written that “if they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.”
