Indiana University’s Muslim Philanthropy Initiative (MPI), part of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, organized fundraising training events in July 2025 (Istanbul) and January 2026 (Jakarta), hosted in partnership with Hayat Yolu Association, a Turkish nonprofit.
The U.S. Treasury sanctioned Hayat Yolu as a “sham charity” providing material support to Hamas’s military wing and serving as a Muslim Brotherhood financial hub. MPI director Shariq Siddiqui praised the partnership publicly. MPI thanked Hayat Yolu for the support.
