‘Rambling, disjointed’: Schumer pans Trump’s Iran speech

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer this week panned President Donald Trump’s Wednesday evening prime-time address on the Iran war, calling it “rambling” and “disjointed.”Trump addressed the nation on Wednesday evening, saying the U.S. was close to achieving its operational objectives in Iran and that he planned to ramp up attacks for 2-3 weeks to finish the job.
“Has there ever been a more rambling, disjointed, and pathetic presidential war speech?” Schumer asked on X.”Donald Trump’s actions in Iran will be considered one of the greatest policy blunders in the history of our country, failing to articulate objectives, alienating allies, and ignoring the kitchen table problems Americans are facing.”
“He is completely unfit to be Commander-in-Chief and the whole world knows it,” he added.
Schumer was not alone in his criticism of the speech, with many pundits opining that Trump failed to say anything new or move the needle on the conflict.
“What was the point of that speech,” asked commentator Mike Cernovich.
“Why is this night different from all other nights? It’s not. Trump didn’t say in his speech anything he didn’t say over the last several days,” Axios reporter Barak Ravid wrote.
