Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs is being charged with felony strangulation or suffocation, on top of misdemeanor assault charges. The charges stem from an altercation a day after the Patriots won a “Monday Night Football” game against the New York Giants, on Dec. 2, Boston 25 reported, citing court filings.
Diggs’ attorney, Michael DiStefano, appeared remotely in a Massachusetts court Tuesday, asking the judge to impound the police report so that the details could remain sealed. DiStefano told the court, according to Boston 25, that Diggs made a financial offer to settle the dispute with the alleged victim in the case.
The judge took the request under advisement and said she’d issue a ruling soon.
