‘Painful’: Wes Moore responds to Trump only inviting GOP governors to traditionally bipartisan event

Gov. Wes Moore, D-Md., responded to President Trump not inviting Democratic governors to the National Governors Association (NGA) dinner at the White House, which is an annual event traditionally attended by governors from both parties.Trump has only invited GOP governors to the White House for the event.
Moore, vice chair of the NGA, said on Saturday that not being invited is “another example of blatant disrespect and a snub to the spirit of bipartisan federal-state partnership.” 
“As the nation’s only Black governor, I can’t ignore that being singled out for exclusion from this bipartisan tradition carries an added weight, whether that was the intent or not,” Moore wrote on Saturday. 
Moore also discussed the situation on Sunday on CNN.
“It’s not lost on me that I’m the only Black governor in this country, and I find that to be particularly painful, considering the fact that the president is trying to exclude me from an organization that not only my peers have asked me to help to lead, but then also a place where I know I belong in,” Moore said.
