The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public board meeting Tuesday to announce what it has determined to be the probable cause of the midair collision over the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport,The meeting takes place almost a year to the day of the Jan. 29, 2025, collision between an American Airlines plane and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter on Jan. 29, 2025. The plane’s 60 passengers and four crew members along with the three soldiers on the helicopter all died, according to siouxlandnews.com.
Board members will review findings from the investigation into the crash between the PSA Airlines regional jet and the helicopter. Members are also expected to vote on safety recommendations aimed at preventing similar accidents.
The agency is expected to issue a final report in about two weeks.
