Former Rep. Chris Collins, who was convicted of insider trading in 2019 and resigned NY seat, is running for Florida’s deep-red FL-19 seat vacated by Byron Donalds’ gubernatorial bid. He touts himself as the “original Trump conservative” who backed Trump from day one in 2016.
However, critics have slammed him as a RINO carpetbagger, citing his 2019 Heritage conservative score of 35%, which is lower than Ilhan Omar’s 38% and near AOC’s 33%, his insider trading arrest, and the millions spent to rebrand as MAGA.
