White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday blamed a fatal ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis, Minn., on a “sinister” left-wing movement sweeping the country.Renee Good was fatally shot on Wednesday during an altercation with federal agents. Video footage from multiple angles showed her attempt to drive away from the agents with a federal officer in the immediate path of her vehicle. The agent fired into the vehicle as she accelerated, resulting in her death. The Department of Homeland Security has defended the agent’s actions as self-defense.
“Let me be clear, President Trump and his entire administration stand fully behind the heroic men and women of ICE, and will always uphold Law and Order in the United States of America,” she said during the daily press briefing. “The deadly incident that took place in Minnesota yesterday occurred as a result of a larger, sinister, left-wing movement that has spread across our country, where our brave men and women of federal law enforcement are under organized attack.”
Minneapolis has been a hotspot for immigration enforcement in recent weeks amid revelations of widespraud fraud linked to the Somali expat community.
