Iran issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) alert late Wednesday, closing airspace to all flights for just two hours except for international flights that already have permission from the country. The Middle Eastern country did not give an explanation for the alert, but it comes as the United States weighs potential actions against the country amid widespread anti-regime protests in Iran. The Iranian government has killed at least 2,400 protesters so far.
“New NOTAM just issued by Iran closing airspace to all flights except international flights to/from Iran with permission,” flight-tracking website Flight radar posted on X. “NOTAM is valid for a little more than 2 hours.”
Trump earlier Wednesday declined to take military operations off the table but said his administration will “watch and see” if statements on Iran stopping its executions and killings are proven true.
