State Rep. Steve Toth defeated four-term incumbent Rep. Dan Crenshaw, the only Texas Republican without Trump’s backing, with just under 57%, avoiding a runoff. Crenshaw, once polling at +28 and favored by 68% of bettors, saw markets swing to 99% for Toth within hours.
MAGA critics branded him anti-Trump and “Liz Cheney wing.” Toth, who was endorsed by the president twice, framed the race as a purge of RINOs. Crenshaw conceded it was “an honor to serve,” but later blamed “a culture of misinformation,” saying “The truth didn’t matter.”
