Tragically, Beech Grove, Indiana, Police Officer Brian Elliott, 33, a two-year department veteran and former Marion County Sheriff’s deputy, was fatally shot on February 16, 2026, while responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment.
For context, he and another officer were fired upon by suspect Kenneth Terrell Johnson after attempting to enter responding to cries for help. In the attack, both were wounded and eventually hospitalized. Elliott succumbed to injuries despite the best efforts of the physicians, while the second officer was successfully stabilized.
