House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Andrew Garbarino announced Tuesday that several top immigration officials will testify in front of his panel next month. The hearing will include testimony from Immigration and Customs Enforcement leader Todd Lyons, Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow.
“Transparency and communication are needed to turn the temperature down,” Garbarino said in a statement. “Thank you to Secretary [Kristi] Noem and the Department of Homeland Security for making these witnesses available, and I look forward to receiving their testimony.”
The oversight hearing will take place on Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. Eastern and comes amid widespread protests in Minneapolis over federal immigration operations, which have resulted in the deaths of two people.
