Golden Globes host and comedian Nikki Glaser said Sunday night that CBS News is “America’s newest place to see BS news.””And the award for ‘Most Editing’ goes to CBS News. Yes, CBS News, America’s newest place to see BS news,” Glaser said during her monologue for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, according to Fox News.
CBS-TV and parent company Paramount, aired the awards show on their network channel.
The news outlet has faced many complaints about its editing over the years, but most recently, in September, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused CBS of editing her “Face the Nation” interview. CBS News later announced that “Face the Nation” interviews would only be broadcast live or live-to-tape.
Before that, President Trump accused CBS News of editing an interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris to provide a better image of the Democratic candidate in the months before the 2024 presidential election. Trump sued CBS after accusing them of “election interference” in favor of Harris.
Paramount later agreed to a $16 million settlement with Trump ahead of its merger with Skydance Media.
Meanwhile, on Friday, comedian and former “Late Show” host David Letterman also blasted CBS on “The Barbara Gaines Show,” a podcast hosted by his former executive producer, according to Fox News.
“What about those idiots at CBS?” Letterman said. “CBS News is a wreck, it’s just gone. CBS News for decades, going back to World War II – before World War II – they would be, Ed Murrow would be broadcasting the blitz of London from the rooftop of buildings in London for CBS Radio.”
“And it was that mentality that drove the integrity of CBS News that has been trampled on, p—– on, and eviscerated by these idiots that have taken it over. And I’m at a point now where it really is hurting my feelings. Because I’m sick and tired of people saying, ‘Oh, wait until those midterms.’ Kids, we’re far downstream of the midterms having any effect on this,” he added.
In July, Letterman slammed CBS’s cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show, which will end in May 2026, as “pure cowardice.”
