The law required the Justice Department to release unclassified records related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein within 30 days, raising hopes that years of secrecy surrounding his crimes and associates might soon come to an end.
Instead, the process has moved at a crawl — and nearly two months later, the vast majority of the files remain hidden from public view.
