The Department of Homeland Security and FBI are on heightened alert after the U.S. and Israeli strikes in Iran.FBI counterterrorism teams are on elevated alert nationally, Fox News reported, citing an official, after “Operation Epic Fury” was launched.
Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said she is in “direct coordination with our federal intelligence and law enforcement partners as we continue to closely monitor and thwart any potential threats to the homeland.”
DHS is currently grappling with a shutdown right now as Congress and the White House continue to negotiate a funding deal.
Some major cities such as Washington, D.C. are beefing up security after the launch of the Iran operation.
