Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., on Sunday sounded the alarm after a Democratic candidate won an upset victory in a Texas special election.Democrat Taylor Rehmet managed to defeat the Trump-endorsed Leigh Wambsganns by roughly 14% in a state Senate race. DeSantis, for his part, warned the GOP to address the impact of that swing.
“Special elections are quirky and not necessarily projectable re: a general election,” he said.”That said, a swing of this magnitude is not something that can be dismissed.  Republicans should be clear-eyed about the political environment heading into the midterms.”
Arguing in the comments section, DeSantis brushed off claims that the severe weather had impacted turnout, asserting that it affected both sides of the aisle.
