CIA refutes claim that Ukraine targeted Putin’s home in a drone strike: Reports

Trump administration officials told multiple news outlets on Wednesday that the CIA has assessed that Ukraine did not target Russian President Vladimir Putin’s home in an alleged drone strike earlier this week, despite Russian claims.Putin told President Donald Trump about the alleged drone attack during a phone call on Monday, which Trump claimed made him “very angry,” but acknowledged the possibility that the attack never took place. Ukraine has denied the attack.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly briefed Trump on the assessment Wednesday, the officials said, according to CNN.
Trump also appeared to be more skeptical of the Russian claim on Wednesday by sharing an op-ed from the New York Post on social media, which claimed Russia was the reason there was no peace between the European countries. 
Russia’s defense ministry has continued to defend the claim, even though it admitted it has no proof, and said Ukraine launched 91 drones against Putin’s home in northwestern Russia and that all drones were intercepted and did not hit the residence, CNN reported. 
The CIA and Ratcliffe have not publicly commented on the assessment.
