Brown University shooting suspect allegedly found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound

Sources told Just The News Thursday night that the suspect in the deadly shooting at Brown University last Saturday was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.The discovery occurred as law enforcement officers were preparing to enter a storage unit they believed belonged to the suspect in Salem, New Hampshire.
Two students were killed and nine others were injured in the shooting at the Ivy League school on Saturday.
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez told reporters during a press briefing Thursday night that the suspect was a Portuguese national named Claudio Manuel Nueves Valente, who was also a 48-year-old student at Brown. His last known address was in Miami, Florida.
Federal officials also told reporters that the shooter is also believed to be the same person who fatally shot an MIT professor in Massachusetts on Monday. Investigators were looking into a possible link earlier Thursday. 
The suspect was additionally discovered with two guns and there was evidence in his car that appeared to confirm he was the Brown University shooter, according to Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha.
“He was found dead, with a satchel, with two firearms and evidence in the car that matches exactly what we see at the scene here in Providence,” Neronha said.
