Britney Spears was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of DUI, according to a news reports.Law enforcement told local TV station NBC4 that the pop star was released shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, following her arrest around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday after being pulled over by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County.
Spears is scheduled for a court appearance on May 4 at the county Superior Court, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A representative for Spears did not immediately respond to the Reporter’s request for comment.
Spears was freed from a court-directed conservatorship in 2021, which included her father, Jamie Spears, in the role of conservator. Her conservatorship was established in 2008, after she was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation.
Her main residency is in Ventura city of Thousand Oaks.
