A supervisor with U.S. Customs and Border Protection is facing accusations of harboring an illegal alien that he was having a romantic relationship with at his home in Texas. Andres Wilkinson appeared in a federal courtroom where a judge ordered that he be held in custody until a detention hearing could be arranged. Wilkinson started working for the CBP in 2001.
He was promoted to a supervisory position in 2021, where he was tasked with overseeing enforcement of customs and immigration law. Authorities discovered that an illegal alien, identified as Elva Edith Garcia-Vallejo in court documents, was living with Wilkinson in his Texas home. The two were romantically involved. Garcia-Vallejo came to the U.S. on a non-immigrant visa in August 2023, but overstayed authorized travel, which expired on February 4, 2024, according to authorities.
