Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said on Sunday that all material in the Jeffrey Epstein case files, including any content that mentions President Trump, will be released.“The White House has said that President Trump is included in the files. Can you guarantee that every mention and every photo of President Trump in the Epstein files will be released?” Blanche was asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
“Yes, yes, I’ve said it three, four times now, we’ve said it before, and President Trump has said it repeatedly since before he was elected and since he was elected, all summer long, he said the same thing, ‘I have nothing to hide,’” Blanche responded.
“And so, of course, that’s the case. But, let me just make sure everybody understands something, to the extent that he is, quote, ‘in the Epstein files,’ it’s not because he had anything to do with the horrific crimes, full stop. But yes, if President Trump is mentioned, if there’s photographs that we have of President Trump or anybody else, they, of course, will be released, with the exception of any victims or survivors that we’ve identified,” he continued.
Blanche said he expects “several hundred thousand more” documents to be released in the “next couple of weeks.” He said the release of the full Epstein files has been delayed due to the need to redact names and information that could identify witnesses.
It was reported on Friday that 16 files, including photos that showed Trump, were removed from the Justice Department website. Blanche addressed those reports, saying it had nothing to do with Trump but advocacy groups linked to victims.
“We don’t have perfect information,” Blanche said. “And so when, when we hear from victims-rights groups about this type of photograph, we pull it down and investigate. We’re still investigating that photo. The photo will go back up, and the only question is whether there will be redactions on the photo.”
