A divided Supreme Court on Monday allowed the White House to continue construction on a $400 million ballroom project as lawsuits play out, a win for President Donald Trump as he flexes unprecedented executive power and remakes the capital in his image. The decision replaces a temporary order from Chief Justice John Roberts previously issued hours before a lower-court decision halting the work would have gone into effect. Roberts publicly dissented from the latest order, however, joining with the court’s three liberal-leaning justices, who called the construction “likely unlawful.” The majority did not decide the project’s legality, but found that…
Michigan Democrats tried to stage a show of support for far-left Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and produced one of the most painfully awkward campaign clips of the election cycle. Radical Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, the socialist-backed Senate nominee who narrowly beat a more moderate opponent in August, is out with another campaign moment that is drawing widespread mockery online. In a press conference clip circulating Monday, El-Sayed stands beside an unidentified woman at the podium as she reads from prepared remarks. She looks down at her papers, appears uncomfortable, and pauses as if she would rather be anywhere else. Sen.…
Have Democrats settled on their argument to Jews for why they should vote for Abdul El-Sayed, despite the fact that he seems content to have them killed in large numbers by Islamists? Advertisement Apparently so, and that argument is that Abdul El-Sayed will save the world from global warming. I first noticed this line of argumentation when Peter Beinart, a Jew himself, argued that voting for El-Sayed was a vote to save the world from burning to a cinder due to global warming. He, at least, argued that saving the world meant saving Jews too, so that in a larger sense it…
CTH continues to get considerable questioning about how the U.S-Canada fracture will take place, what it means for the Canadian dollar (CAD) and when the issues can be expected to apex. It appears that part of the reasoned disconnect people are struggling with is directly related to the messaging from the Canadian government in combination with the financial media. In short, despite the increased trade friction, a decoupling of the U.S. economy from the Canadian economy just seems unfathomable to most observers. The main question we receive is ‘when will things happen‘? Meaning when will financial markets react? The most…
Hundreds of fraudulent truck-driving schools and more than 800 dangerous truckers have been removed from the roads as part of ongoing federal efforts to remove unqualified foreign drivers from U.S. roads following multiple fatal crashes involving non-citizen truckers, according to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Earlier this month, dozens of illegal alien truck drivers were arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a multi-agency operation conducted in Arizona’s Yuma Sector. All 95 drivers possessed state-issued commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs), with 76 from California, six from New York, and the remainder from other…
Israel and Greece sealed a historic $3.5 billion defense agreement Monday that will see Jerusalem build Athens a complete multi-layered air defense network, significantly expanding the two countries’ strategic partnership amid growing security challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean. The roughly €3 billion government-to-government agreement, known in Greece as “Achilles Shield,” is the largest defense export deal in the history of Israeli-Greek relations and one of the largest ever signed by Israel, according to the Israeli Defense Ministry. The agreement also marks the first time Israel will supply another country with an entire integrated defense architecture capable of countering threats ranging…

The Supreme Court on Monday allowed President Trump to proceed with White House Ballroom construction in a 5-4 vote. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts dissented. The liberal justices joined Roberts’ dissent. After a fierce legal battle with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Trump DOJ asked the US Supreme Court earlier this month to intervene. DOJ Solicitor General John Sauer argued that the White House Ballroom acts as a military asset because it has a subterranean bunker and rooftop drone port. Last week, Chief Justice Roberts allowed construction work on Trump’s White House Ballroom to continue… temporarily. Roberts…

Following one of the biggest intelligence failures in U.S. history, the September 11, 2001, attacks, an independent commission recommended Congress strengthen its oversight of the CIA, FBI and other spy agencies — but a new retrospective report reveals that never happened.Since the inner workings of the intelligence community are by nature secret, Americans rely on Congress to ensure it’s protecting the homeland while respecting their liberty. But not much has changed since 2004 when the 9/11 Commission lambasted congressional oversight of the intelligence community as “dysfunctional” and reported that the “House and Senate intelligence committees lack the power, influence, and…

Ever since Abdul El-Sayed became the Democratic Senate nominee from Michigan, the liberal media has been doing all it can to protect him against accusations of anti-Semitism, and belittle concerns about his close relationship with radical left wing streamer Hasan Piker, who, among other outrageous statements, once said America deserved 9-11. On Sunday’s Face The Nation, CBS host Margaret Brennan’s performance was one of the most egregious examples of this. After receiving a ‘good morning’ welcome from Brennan, Congressman John James of Michigan, who is also the GOP’s gubernatorial candidate from the state, wasted no time in getting his main…

Via satellite video, a global audience watched in real time the unfolding catastrophe at Kabul’s Karzai International Airport. What should have been an orderly withdrawal conducted by the U.S. military, the world leader in organized, systematic, non-combatant evacuations (NEO in Pentagon lingo), was anything but.
