The U.S. Commission of Fine Arts approved Thursday the final design for President Donald Trump’s 24-karat gold commemorative coin, which will bear his image and will be part of the United States’ 250th birthday celebrations. The vote means the United States Mint can now begin producing the gold coin, which is expected to be released by the Fourth of July.
The front of the coin shows an image of Trump in a suit and tie, with a serious look on his face as his fists rest on a desk, according to the Associated Press. The word “LIBERTY” will be displayed on the top, followed by the dates 1776-2026.
The words “IN GOD WE TRUST” will be at the bottom of the front side, with seven stars on one side of the coin and six stars on the other side.
The reverse side shows a bald eagle midflight with the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” on the right and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on the left.
“As we approach our 250th birthday, we are thrilled to prepare coins that represent the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, and there is no profile more emblematic for the front of such coins than that of our serving President, Donald J. Trump,” U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said in a statement.
The size and denomination of the coin have not been decided so far, but it will be part of a very limited run.
