British Olympic gold medal boxer Anthony Joshua, who recently defeated reality star Jake Paul, survived a high-speed car crash Monday in Nigeria in which two others were killed, according to news reports. The crash occurred at about 11 a.m. local time on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, in the far southwest corner of Nigeria, police said.
Authorities have given conflicting reports about whether the 36-year-old heavyweight boxer was a passenger in either a Lexus SUV or Jeep.
The vehicle reportedly slammed into a stationary truck, and Joshua escaped with only minor injuries, said police, according to NBC News.
Joshua defeated reality star-turned boxer Paul on Dec. 20 before an audience that included a reported 33 million Netflix viewers.
